Job Summary

• The veterinary technician will provide premium service to pets by bathing, grooming and ensuring thorough cleaning of dog’s kennels, clinic, admission rooms, boarding rooms and the general premises of the organization.

Job Description

• Conduct grooming which includes: bath, ear & anal gland cleaning, nail clipping, fur brushing and hair cut for pets.


• Monitoring of dogs on boarding and admission room (feeding, observation and kennel cleaning).


• Providing assistance to Doctors as required in cases of restraint, drug administration and general cleaning.


• De-matting and detangling dogs as required.


• Identify and communicate any pet health issue to the medical department and client.


• Recommending grooming techniques/products to client.


• Ensure all working equipment’s are thoroughly cleaned and sterilized after use.


• Actively assist colleagues in cleaning and maintaining a conducive environment.


• Always be available to work at the start of a scheduled shift.


• Be aware of cleanliness of clinic and grounds. Routinely pick up trash or faeces from around and within work environments.


• Maintain a professional appearance while at work, including clean and pressed uniforms or clothes.


• Maintain constant vigilance regarding open doorways that could allow pets to escape from the facility.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of OND qualification.


• 2+ years relevant work experience.


• Excellent communication and reporting skills.


• Attention to detail.


• Knowledge of methods and processes of grooming pets/techniques of pet handling during grooming is an added advantage.


• Customer service skills: attentively listening to client’s request.
