Job Description
George Houston is seeking to recruit suitably qualified & experienced Jack Operator for her client, a reputable Engineering, Construction and Oil & Gas Servicing company Located in Port Harcout.
JOB DUTIES
- Acts as the first line of defense for well control problems and is responsible for monitoring all primary well control activities.
- Monitor down-hole conditions and log all drilling parameters (i.e. mud weight and pipe tally) while executing the well program.
- Ensure all crewmembers are capable of performing their respective duties within the parameters of company policies.
- Ensuring that all employees wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
- Attend and lead regular safety meetings necessary for a safe operation.
- Responsible for completing blowout prevention (BOP) drills, equipment checks (crown saver, motor kills, etc.) as prescribed by company policy.
- Be prepared to lead an initial response to all emergencies that may arise on the drill floor.
- Maintain open communication with crew personnel, client representatives, and service personnel involved in the drilling operation.
- Responsible for the daily checks of the equipment prior to starting shift and any other maintenance issues throughout the 12 hour shift.
QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Engineering
- Knowledge in Well Service operations
- IWCF Level 4 & HSE
- Minimum Experience: 5-7 years’ experience on the job.
