Good knowledge of standard nursing practice in a community and acute care setting.
Provide the best possible care and advice by monitoring patient’s condition for desirable and undesirable effects and intervene appropriately.
Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and fill in patients’ charts and assessing their needs and providing peri-natal and peri-operative care.
Administer patient’s medication, provide treatments and follow-up of patients according to doctors’ prescriptions
Administering care with safety consciousness by ensuring observance of universal hygienic standards and precautions
Provide instant medical care in emergencies.
Assist surgeons during operations.
Strictly adhere to clinical guidelines and standard operating procedures set by the hospital management.
Requirements
The candidate must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria as staff nurse (RN) / Midwife (RM).
Applicants must have 4 - 7 years’ experience in nursing and must possess a current practicing license.
Treat patients and families with care and respect while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
Must have clinical experience in direct patient care.
Patient-friendly etiquette.
Excellent knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques.
Solid understanding of patient safety and precautions.
In-depth knowledge of surgical operation procedures.
A great team player with excellent communication skills.
