Job Description



Job Summary



  • An accounting personnel whose responsibilities will include overseeing end-to-end finance operations, financial planning and analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, looking to make improvements to procedures and controls, as well as ad-hoc projects and requests as and when they come up.


Roles and Responsibilities



  • Assist in coordination and direction of budgets, financial planning and forecasting.

  • Assist in the analysis of monthly and quarterly financial reports and presenting findings to the board.

  • Assist in transactional tasks and help make good financial decisions.

  • Undertaking strategic analysis and assisting with strategic planning

  • Undertaking research into pricing, competitors and factors affecting performance

  • Assist Carrying out business modelling and risk assessment.

  • Ensure invoicing and accounts receivables.

  • Assist in driving the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices.

  • Compliance returns.

  • Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments and similar accounting entries.

  • Monthly reconciliation of bank, suppliers, customer ledgers and intercompany accounts: to ensure all accounts are accurate.

  • Participate in departmental cost analysis.

  • Advise on tax and treasury issues.

  • Participate in inventory process and ad hoc finance work requirements.


Educational and Professional Requirements



  • B.Sc or HND in Accounting.

  • Professional Qualification ACCA desirable.

  • MBA would be an added advantage.


Experience Requirements:



  • Minimum of (4) years working experience in finance and accounts (preferably retail industry)

  • Experience in using accounting software such as Sage 200 (not mandatory) as training would be given.

  • Strong attention to detail and an investigative nature.

  • Good time management skills, ability to prioritise and ensure deadlines are met.

  • Excellent IT skills - Proficiency in MS Office specifically in excel and confident when using digital skills and other applications.

  • The desire to learn and take on new challenges.
