Duties and Responsibilities
- Continuous inspection of project sites to ensure a hazard-free environment.
- Assessment and approval of subcontractor safety plans.
- Verification of tools and equipment to ensure good quality.
- Promoting safe practices on site.
- Creating and enforcing safety guidelines and programs.
- Carrying out drills and exercises on managing emergency situations.
- Conducting investigations on accidents.
- Verifying that all safety reports are submitted to related government institutions.
- Responding to workers safety concerns.
- Assisting with the preparation of a construction health and safety plan.
- Attending project planning meetings and collaborating with construction/site Manager.
- Ensure strict compliance with project HSE policy and procedures during pre-commissioning, start up and commissioning of site installations.
- Ensure compliance of Permit to Work System and SIMOPS management systems.
- Manage all project induction programs.
- Ensure accurate measurement of HSE performance metrics and their timely reporting.
- Fulfill emergency response duties as detailed in the emergency response plan.
- Analyze the HSE data proactively and provide the project management team with clear direction on the areas to focus.
Requirement & Educational Qualification
- Candidates should possess a BSc / HND in Engineering or relevant degree.
- Minimum possess 5 years’ experience as a Safety Engineer in an oil & gas company.
- Professional qualifications in ISO 9001: 2015, CSWIP, AWS, NACE.
- Have ISPON Level 3 or other relevant certification.
