Provide care to students and administer first aid measures as required
Ensure that parents of sick children are communicated with before drugs are administered
Prepare pupil health assessment reports and send to parents with note on symptoms, drugs administered and recommendations for further evaluation if any
Follow the school’s medication policy and oversee the administration of medication as prescribed by pupil’s physician
Initiate emergency procedures for pupils and staff
Liaise with the school administrator and the school hospital to ensure emergency cases are immediately transferred for further medical attention
Promote health education
Promote and assist in the control of communicable diseases through preventive immunization programs, early detection and reporting on communicable diseases
Oversee health screening programs with external health organizations
Prepare and maintain student clinical records
Maintain the school’s first aid box
Take regular stock of health supplies, check expiry dates and notify the school administrator of soon to be expired drugs
Ensure the sick bay is kept clean and free of noise
Ensure that the sick bay is decorated attractively.
