Job Description



  • We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to join our team in building a cutting-edge digital bank. The successful candidate will have a strong background in backend development and will be comfortable working with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

  • As a Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the server-side logic for our digital banking platform. This will include working on the development of new features, as well as the maintenance and improvement of existing functionality. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the platform is scalable, secure, and reliable.

  • To be successful in this role, you should have a strong understanding of backend technologies and frameworks, as well as experience working with databases and APIs.

  • You should also be comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment and be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. Experience with AWS is a must.

Responsibilities (Job Competencies and Capabilities)



  • Build and maintain highly available production systems.

  • Design cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and highly available on AWS

  • Work collaboratively with software engineering to define infrastructure and deployment requirements

  • Provision, configure and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure defined as code

  • Ensure configuration and compliance with configuration management tools.

  • Administer and troubleshoot Linux based systems.

  • Build and maintain operational tools for deployment, monitoring, and analysis of AWS infrastructure and systems.

  • Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization.

  • You'll be responsible for the server-side code and APIs of our web applications. You'll be involved in the entire product development lifecycle including the design, development, deployment and maintenance of new and existing features.

  • Your work will be the driving force behind all back-end activities.

  • You have experience with coaching and mentoring other developers

  • You can oversee and drive projects forward


Requirements

To succeed at this role, you will require:



  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields.

  • At least 5 years + of experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, Security Groups, IAM, ECS, Code Deploy, CloudFront, S3)

  • Write well-designed, testable, efficient code

  • Ensure quality projects are delivered within defined timelines

  • Maintain high standards of quality for code, documentation and other deliverables

  • Experience with modern frameworks and design patterns.

  • Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g., HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)

  • Knowledge of multiple back-end languages (e.g. C#, Java, Python, Ruby, PHP, and .Net.) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js and Amber)

  • Familiarity with databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, Postgress, MongoDB), web servers (e.g., Apache)

  • Experience in Version control system like GIT.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
