Key Roles and Responsibilities



  • Strategy formulation & Financial planning in conjunction with the MD.

  • Implementation of the Institution’s short, medium and long term goals and objectives.

  • Coordination of business development activities to achieve organisational goals including deposit mobilisation, growth of quality risk assets and income generation.

  • Goals setting and development of appropriate performance benchmarks/appraisals for all categories of staff

  • Continuous review of Institution’s operations and information technology strategy for efficiency and effectiveness

  • Provision of timely, useful and accurate information to the Managing Director.

  • Monitor the company’s tax filings to avert exposure to the risk of fines and penalties.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company’s financial and credit policies, standards, rules & regulations.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and guidelines.

  • Assets and liability management.

  • Stakeholders engagement.

  • Build a solid human resources base and institute appropriate mentoring programs/succession plans in the organisation.


Qualifications & Job Attributes



  • Minimum of First Degree (B.Sc / HND) preferably in numeric disciplines e.g Economics, Business Administration, Accounting / Finance etc. or other Business related field.

  • Possession of a Master’s Degree and or relevant professional qualifications such as ACA, ACIB, ACIS, MCIB.

  • Minimum of five (5) years cognate experience, with at least 3 years at senior management level with demonstrated success in such role.

  • Gender: Male/Female.

  • Candidate must possess proven & verifiable capability to mobilise significant investments into the business.

  • Very strong leadership skills and a rich industry network is very important.

  • Good knowledge and understanding of the Nigerian Financial services industry.

  • Must be familiar with the microfinance regulatory & supervisory guidelines.

  • Highly motivated with strong commitment to work with customers at the bottom of the pyramid.

  • Demonstrated track record in people management.

  • Good understanding of key risks affecting including but not limited to market, credit and operational risks.

  • Budgeting and resource allocation skill.
