We are looking to hire an Internal Control Officer to join our diverse team. In this role, you will support the Strategic Business Units in ensuring adequacy of controls in order to provide assurance on the effectiveness and efficiency of operations, reliability of financial reporting and compliance with applicable laws and regulations with a view to enhancing accountability and sound management practices.
Job Responsibilities
Daily/periodic review of all debits in our Bank accounts
Daily call-over of expense tickets and other posted transactions to ensure their correctness and accuracy.
Conduct risk assessment of departments/functional areas in accordance with timelines
Timely investigation of all assigned cases and conduct special investigations as may be assigned from time to time.
Conduct audit testing of potential risk areas and identify reportable issues.
Conduct any reviews or tasks requested by Management.
Activity participates in the development of Internal Control policies
Identify areas of financial and administrative strengths and weaknesses and develop best practices.
Provide assurance that processes and procedures are complied with so as to avoid operational losses.
Provide assurance that controls are in place and are effective and adequate and make recommendations where necessary.
Track there solution of all audit/control recommendations and ensure compliance within the agreed timeline.
Provides support to the company's anti-fraud programs.
Monthly bank reconciliation review
Engage in the monthly stock count exercise
Compilation and continuous review of a detailed transaction process flow for all key activities in the organization and define control measures to ensure compliance
Initiate and conduct spot checks on transactions and activities to evaluate the adequacy of internal controls and the efficiency/ effectiveness of operations.
Work with the Internal Control Manager to ensure the implementation of standard controls and up-to-date operational policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics or any other Social Science course
An ACA qualification will be an advantage
2-4 years working experience in internal control and audit in manufacturing
Experience with tools and software to be used for compliance
Proven working experience as Internal Auditor
Prior work experience in using an ERP system will be an added advantage
Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and to compile detailed report s
Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules, and regulations
Strong knowledge of implementing policies and SOP
Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
Analytical skills to study problems and records and identify solutions.
