A restaurant manager ensures the restaurant runs smoothly.They hire and train staff following company policies.In addition restaurant managers speak with customers about any concerns or problems,while also creating work schedules
Responsibilities
- coordinating daily restaurant management operations
- Delivering superior food and beverage service and ensure customer satisfaction
- Responding efficiently and accurately to restaurant customer complaints
- Regularly review product quality and research new vendors
- Organise and supervise shifts
- Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity
- Manage restaurant's good image and suggest ways to improve it
- Control operational costs and improvise ways to improve it
- Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices
- Recommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g discounts and social media ads)
- Create detailed reports on weekly,monthly and annual revenue and expenses
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
- Proven work experience as a restaurant manager,restaurant general manager
- Extensive food and beverage knowledge,with ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers
- Familiarity with restaurant management software,like open table etc
- Acute financial management skills
- BSC degree in business admiistration,hosptatlity management or culinary school is a plus
