Our client, who is a leading law practice with over 70 years of experience as a full-service law firm, is looking to hire a Librarian.
DEPARTMENT: Administration & Support
JOB TYPE: Temporary, 5-6 Months
SUPERVISOR: Practice Manager
JOB SUMMARY: This person will assist in maintaining and upgrading library services provided to the counsel of our client's Chambers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Loan library materials such as books to patrons and collect the returned materials.
- Catalogue and maintain the library materials.
- Handle loans
- Organize and reshelf returned items such as periodicals, books and DVDs.
- Handle the registration of new library cardholders and issue library cards.
- Teach people how to use the library resources.
- Answer any questions from patrons.
- Perform routine tasks such as answering phone calls and organizing files.
- Use and maintain computer library database to help locate library materials
- Photocopy and prepare needed library forms
- Perform book repair and mending
- Withdraw materials when needed
- Help make and maintain signage in the library for all departments
- Any other duties assigned by the Practice Manager
LIBRARY REQUIREMENTS:
- A degree in Library Studies
- Research and memorization skills.
- English, math and computer skills.
- Attention to detail.
Salary: Negotiable
