Job Description



The Interns will work under the supervision of the National Programme Officer and will gain experience through working with the Abuja Country Office Programme Unit, and other staff in the office by assisting in strategic programming, coordination, analytical and the operational work in the Office. 


Duties and responsibilities include:



  • Provide support programming and administrative support services in application of established rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines. 

  • Provide support in maintaining & Updating databases and records on programming activities for programme monitoring and evaluation purposes. 

  • Provide support to the Program Assistant in terms of Collecting and analysing data and other information on employment, decent work indicators and strategies. 

  • Provide support in preparing background information for use in programme and budget preparations and implementation. S/he will also assist the office in terms of proposals and report writings.

  • Provide support in organizing workshops, trainings and meetings;

  • Perform other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor

  • Interns should expect to devote 10% to 20% of their time to administrative tasks.


Required profile


Education



  • Area of studies: Economics, Law, Business Administration, Psychology, Educational Sciences.

  • The candidate should be enrolled in their final year of graduate degree programme or should have completed such a programme no longer than 1 years ago (mandatory)


Experience



  • Any relevant work experience in Programmes would be beneficial .

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office programmes, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge on statistical data analysis and/or web design would be an advantage. Good drafting, analytical and research skills. Ability to take initiatives


Languages



  • Excellent command of English (both oral and written). Working knowledge of any other ILO's official languages would be an added advantage.
