Job Summary



  • Support the Quantity Surveyor in managing the life cycle cost of construction projects from feasibility to work completion and handover.


Principle Duties and Responsibilities



  • Assist in establishing requirements and undertake feasibility studies to ensure projects are feasible.

  • Prepare and analyse project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labour and time

  • Assist with the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect

  • Assist with negotiation of contracts and work schedules

  • Perform risk, value management and cost control during construction

  • Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work

  • Advise on a procurement strategy

  • Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks

  • Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes

  • Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports.


Experience and Qualification



  • B.Sc. or HND in Quantity Surveying

  • Membership of Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors will be an added advantage.

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a QS role


Competency and Skills Requirements:



  • Excellent negotiation skills.

  • Strong numerate and Financial Management skills.

  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects and multi-task to meet deadlines

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Basic knowledge of current building and construction procurement processes and technologies, sourcing of building materials.


Person Specification:



  • Must be able to workand meet established timelines.

  • Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation and presentation skills.

  • Ability to identify, resolve or escalate problemsin a timely manner.

  • Detailed, oriented and organized work habits.

  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal supervision.

  • Candidates should have excellent time management and organizational skills.
