Job Summary



  • Our Client is recruiting for the position of a driven General Manager with proven leadership experience to closely monitor and oversee all operations to ensure that all activities are carried out to the highest standard.


Responsibilities



  • Ensures that quarries, pits and opencast sites operate successfully

  • Manage production and extraction activities

  • Ensure on time delivery of the right products to clients

  • Conduct risk assessment and safety inspections

  • Update reports and records of procurement and budget control

  • Overseethe quarry production and haulage activities to minimize costs and improve efficiency and productivity.

  • Expand client base and ensure the capacity meets demands.

  • Organize the repair and routine maintenance of trucks and productionequipment to minimize downtime and ensure continuity of production.

  • Determine and enforce disciplinary measures on truck drivers, equipment operators and other staff where the need arises.

  • Acquire a Supplier base for supply of quality and durable truck and equipment parts at the least possible cost.

  • Source for reputable clients for sale of aggregates.

  • Any other responsibility as may be assigned by management.


Qualifications



  • Appropriate Management qualifications and/or Tertiary qualifications

  • At least 3 years (logistics & Supply Chain) industry experience, required

  • 4 years of experience in a supervisory or management role

  • Technical know-how and managerial skills of quarry operations

  • Proven experience of managing a Quarry is an added advantage.
