Unit Description
- Utilities / Financial Services Department is charged with the responsibilities of driving revenues as part of it mission to contribute to the overall performance of eTranzact by serving as a payment technology partner to non-financial institutions, optimization of commercial banks, onboarding of microfinance banks and Utility others (Water, waste, and Transport) leveraging the switching capabilities, Corporate pay, SwitchIt, BankIT, and PayOutlet e.t.c
Job Description
- The team Lead will focus specifically on implementing value-added services for Banks and other financial institutions leveraging our payment solutions listed above with major emphasis on SwitchIT to position eTranzact as primary / alternate platform for VAS (FT, Topup and Bill payments) and drive revenue from same.
Key Responsibilities
- The role is responsible for onboarding banks not currently on the etranzact platform for both funds transfer - inbound and outbound for microfinance banks and commercial banks. See table A below
- Optimize operations of all banks on the platform
- The role is responsible for signing new deals and executing existing signed partnership/commercial deals with banks including developing and executing new and innovative payment business models and ecosystems.
- The incumbent will be responsible collaboration and exercising leadership in driving core revenue and product cross sales through sales channels and product optimization
- Maintain and manage (working with internal and external stakeholders) all elements that will ensure operational excellence of all services within the department this includes and not limited to:
- IT Optimization
- Settlement optimization
- Revenue Assurance
- System stability
- System availability for transactions
- Constant process improvement
- Contribute to the achievement of the department’s sales and net revenue targets including designing strategies, messaging and proposals for customers.
- Assist with analysis of the partner’s business through profitability modeling, financial forecasting and competitive analysis including Budgeting, Strategic Account planning and Quarterly Business Reviews.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to plan, execute and monitor progress against annual business objectives/goals.
Additional Role:
- Responsible for the delivery of business objectives and delivery on responsibilities of all parties in the other units within the department ( in reference to JDs in place for persons in these units and the job position/ budget)
- Develop and Implement bank onboarding process with standardized TAT
- Design and implement mechanism for customer feedback loop to teams- regular update meetings for issue resolution and reports
- Design issues escalation protocols, training manuals and other required documents needed to be setup for success
- Identify and bridge gaps within the operations, finance and technology teams to ensure revenue assurances and high performance of the operational side of the switchIT platform.
- Develop and manage operating model for various categories of banks
- Conduct Trainings to bring relevant departments of banks up to speed on the platform
- Document framework for periodical trainings
Purpose of the Role
- The purpose of this role is to manage the relationship with key strategic Financial institutions in Nigeria and internal stakeholders in eTranzact
- Generate revenues and deepen business relationships with these entities for new businesses beyond bill fulfilment
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with at least 8 years of experience in business development in the payments industry
- Functional Project management experience in a client-facing role
- Basic understanding of digital payments and web-based technology
- Working knowledge of core transaction processing (message routing, authorization, clearing & settlement)
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to absorb technical information and apply to business solutions where little or no precedence exists. Be able to communicate complex, technical concepts in a focused and well-organized manner.
- Willingness to take on new challenges in a fast-paced environment and be flexible with multi-tasking and changing priorities. Ability to work in the “grey area” where answers may not be known but need to be developed
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills in negotiating and influencing internal and external stakeholders
- Organized self-starter, result oriented, and a passion for scaling new products
- Expert knowledge of standard MS Office tools (e.g. MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, etc.)
- Having the following will be added advantage, Subject Matter Expertise in multiple areas such as card payments, products and services, payment technologies, wallet services gained through years of experience supporting clients and new product initiatives within a payment-processing environment.
