Our client; a reputable firm in the MARITIME sector is looking to fill the role of a TERMINAL OPERATIONS MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establishing and enforcing safety procedures for employees in order to maintain compliance with federal and state regulations
- Coordinating with other departments such as maintenance and security to ensure that equipment is functioning properly and staff members are trained on new technologies
- Ensuring that all cargo is thoroughly inspected before loading or unloading to prevent damage to equipment or exposure of hazardous materials to the public
- Overseeing the activities of staff members to ensure that all tasks are performed properly and efficiently
- Managing employee performance through regular appraisals and feedback to help employees improve their skills
- Evaluating and resolving customer complaints to ensure satisfaction with services and to prevent problems from occurring again in the future
- Training staff on proper procedures to ensure compliance with regulations
- Managing the flow of cargo through ports by coordinating with shipping companies, customs officials, truckers, and other parties involved in shipping and receiving operations
- Maintaining records of all cargo movements through the terminal, including information about the vessel, origin, destination, contents, weight, and other details
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in terminal operations management.
- Proven track record of successful project management
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Experience managing budgets and expenses
- Experience developing internal processes and filing systems
- In-depth knowledge of maritime shipping regulations
