KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Kitchen Steward, you will be responsible for
- Washing and storage of pots, pans, chafing dishes, equipment, and general cleanliness of the Kitchen area.
- You will also be an integral player in working as part of a cohesive team or singularly as
- Required to deliver high standards of cleanliness and customer satisfaction. Your professional
- Conduct and manner will assist in ensuring staff and guests to enjoy quality food and service in
- Clean, pleasant, and safe surroundings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the kitchen is clean, well maintained, and organised always.
- Ensure floors are dry and clean always.
- Adhere to all sanitation guidelines and maintain a hygienic working environment in accordance with hygiene regulations and LBS standards.
- Operate washing equipment following LBS protocols as needed.
- Assist the cooks, chefs, and restaurant associates when necessary.
- Collect and remove trash from all areas of the operation following established procedures.
- Ensure the waste bin area is kept clean and tidy.
- Carry out general cleaning as directed, including sweeping, mopping up, washing up, emptying of rubbish bins and boxes, ensuring placement in the correct containers.
- Wash pots, pans, chafing dishes, utensils, equipment, dishes, and related service ware used in the kitchen following established procedures.
- Clean and maintain floors and walls in the kitchen and dishwashing area by following standard
- Clean large equipment as assigned, following established procedures
- Knowledge and proficiency in operating industrial dishwashers.
- Wash, Wipe, Sort, Stack, and store all cleaned items in an organised and safe manner.
- Clean, sanitize, and close workstations.
- Use and maintain all equipment according to manufacturer and department guidelines.
- Report any maintenance or hazard issues to the Head, Kitchen.
- You may sometimes be required to work on other tasks and areas as directed by the Head, Kitchen, or Senior Chef De Partie.
SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE
- To be successful in the role, the candidate would be required to demonstrate the following:
- Have previous stewarding or cleaning experience in a high-volume environment.
- Demonstrate superior customer service and communication skills.
- Be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and multi-task effectively.
- Must be able to stand or bend frequently. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., lift overhead, push/ pull, and move lighter objects.
QUALIFICATION:
- First School Leaving Certificate
Experience:
- 1-year Experience working in the food and beverage industry.
