Job Description



Responsibilities



  • Cooks foodstuffs in quantities according to the menu, and the number of persons to be served. Prepares texture-modified foods. Follows recipes.

  • Properly thaws and cuts meat. Uses separate cutting boards following guidelines.

  • Portions and plans menu foods accurately according to established guidelines.

  • Prepares for following meals, orders supplies and keeps records and accounts.

  • Cleans and sanitises work areas using appropriate solutions and techniques.

  • Follows all safety procedures, handling of equipment, lifting techniques, reporting injuries, and fire and disaster plan.


Requirements



  • Candidates should possess an OND / SSCE / GCE / NECO qualification

  • Qualified Cook with professional catering qualifications.

  • A minimum of 2 years relevant experience.

  • Previous hospital experience is preferred but not essential.

  • Exhibits a high level of customer/patient relation skills.

  • Ability to work as a team member in the daily performance of duties.

  • Ability to work well on own initiative and as part of team.

  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.

  • Ability to take directions.

  • Be punctual and well-presented.

  • Ability to speak Fluent English is essential.
