Job Summary

• The Management of AfriHUB - GDLI invites applicants for the position of lecturer for its Graphic Designing class.


• The primary professional responsibilities of the ideal candidate are to provide outstanding lecturing, academic research, and supervisory roles to the institute’s academic department.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be tasked with the following duties:

• Teaching/training experience


• Networking knowledge and experience


• Excellent communication and presentation skills


• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience


• Ability to develop and update course materials


• Good organizational and time management skills


• Familiarity with different learning styles and techniques


• Patience and ability to work with students of different levels of understanding


• Technical writing skills for creating lab guides and other instructional materials.


• Counseling and advising students on academic needs


• Interviewing potential students for admission


• Providing academic support to students and colleagues


• Collaborating with other academics and colleagues to improve teaching methods and expand the knowledge base


• Certifications in relevant areas of cyber security


• Continuing education in cyber security trends and advancements

Minimum Qualifications

• Academic qualification, BSc, MSc, or equivalent.


• Expertise and mastery of the academic discipline.


• Graphic Certification.


• 3 years experience with academic programs management and records


• Graphics design certification is a plus.

Required:

• Academic qualification, BSc, MSc, or equivalent


• 3 years experience with academic lecturing and supervision


• Computer skills


• Academic publications


• Experience in graphic design for various mediums (e.g. print, digital, Packaging)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong skills in graphic design software (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite)


• Excellent sense of color, typography, and composition.


• Ability to work within branding guidelines.


• Strong communication and collaboration skills


• Ability to work within tight deadlines


• Understanding of design trends and ability to stay up-to-date


• Experience in the photo and video editing


• Ability to take direction and incorporate feedback


• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills


• Portfolio of design work


• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks


• Familiarity with design tools and technology


• Understanding of user-centered design principles


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
