Role and Responsibilities
- Ensure that all dishes are tasty, nutritious, and presented in an aesthetically pleasing way.
- Ensure proper food costing and the right portions to be served.
- Be experienced in the preparation of continental and African cuisine.
- Oversee food preparation and be knowledgeable in menu standards.
- Ensure that kitchen assistants perform their duties.
- Determine how much food and supplies need to be purchased
- Train new kitchen staff.
- Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and sanitary at all times.
- Be time conscious when preparing meals.
- Pay attention to detail.
- Learn to communicate in a fast-moving environment.
- Know how to properly manage a busy kitchen.
Qualifications
- Candidates should posses a Bachelor's Degre with at least 4 years work experience.
- Having a culinary certification would be added advantage.
