Role and Responsibilities



  • Ensure that all dishes are tasty, nutritious, and presented in an aesthetically pleasing way.

  • Ensure proper food costing and the right portions to be served.

  • Be experienced in the preparation of continental and African cuisine.

  • Oversee food preparation and be knowledgeable in menu standards.

  • Ensure that kitchen assistants perform their duties.

  • Determine how much food and supplies need to be purchased

  • Train new kitchen staff.

  • Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and sanitary at all times.

  • Be time conscious when preparing meals.

  • Pay attention to detail.

  • Learn to communicate in a fast-moving environment.

  • Know how to properly manage a busy kitchen.


Qualifications



  • Candidates should posses a Bachelor's Degre with at least 4 years work experience.

  • Having a culinary certification would be added advantage.
