Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and talented Video Editor to assemble recorded footage into a finished project that matches the director’s vision and is suitable for social media broadcasting.
Ultimately, as a Film and Video Editor, you should be able to bring sight and sound together to tell a cohesive story.
The role is full-time and fully remote.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience
- Be able to translate none audio-visual content into audio-visuals
- You will source for and use non-copyrighted assets in creating videos
- Take a brief to grasp the production team’s needs and specifications
- Demonstrated fluency in creating animated videos
- Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity
- Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
- Input music, dialogues, graphics, and effects
- Create rough and final cuts
- Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
- Consult with stakeholders from production to the post-production process
- Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and the industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Good knowledge of relevant copyright laws and regulations
- Proven work experience as a Video Editor
- Good understanding of social media KPIs and a track record of meeting them
- Excellent multi-tasking skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Team player
- Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects, and Final Cut)
- Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
- Creative mind and storytelling skills
- Ability to convert non-audiovisual content into audio-visual
