As a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, you will assist in the design, coordination and implementation of the monitoring and evaluation, research, and learning framework of the Company’s Projects. You will develop a systematic monitoring framework to improve the qualitative and quantitative evidence of impact gathered by all Projects embarked upon by the Company. You will also provide technical assistance in executing projects, particularly in relation to monitoring, reporting and administrative issues.


Requirements



  • Holds a B.Sc. in Agricultural Economics, Economics

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Data Collection tools

  • Familiarity with impact assessment

  • Good moderation, facilitation and training skills.

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer’s responsibilities shall include:



  • Development and/or finalization of Project Work Plan and keep same updated in accordance with project activities and timeframes as relevant.

  • Develop the overall framework, for project M&E, for example mid-term project review, impact assessment and final evaluation

  • Develop Project Performance Monitoring Plan with relevant data collection systems.

  • Review the quality of existing data in the project subject areas, the methods of collection, and the degree to which it will provide good baseline statistics for impact evaluation.

  • Develop baseline data for each project component and for all project indicators.

  • With collaborating partners, review their existing approaches and management information systems and agree on any required changes, support and resources.

  • Develop a plan for project-related capacity-building on M&E and for any computer-based support that may be required.

  • Organize and undertake training with collaborating partners on M&E as required.

  • Monitor and keep record of progress of in-house seed breeding activities as well as records of the activities of our partners

  • Participate in corporate proposal writing and business plan development

  • Submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, half yearly and yearly progress reports of activities under review.  Reports will be narrative as well as financial

  • Manage database system for monitoring and evaluation and generate periodic reports to inform and guide program.

  • Provide quality assurance, including data verification, on all reports and information produced by the project by editing and consolidating all reports into a narrative report within the prescribed timelines.
