Job Description
The Program Coordinator will provide all required logistics, procurement, administrative, and general program support to the ALDDN Program Lead and team.
Program/Practice/Department Overview:
The ALDDN program seeks to catalyze the Nigerian dairy sector in an inclusive way that improves the livelihoods, productivity, nutrition and empowerment of smallholder women dairy farmers and the communities in which they live in. More specifically, the program seeks to:
- Advocate for an enabling environment for local sourcing through engagements with the government and relevant private sector stakeholders.
- Increase demand for locally sourced milk through partnerships with dairy processors currently or interested in sourcing locally.
- Improve smallholder dairy farmers’ productivity by increasing their access to technical support services and right inputs.
- Empower women dairy farmers and enable them to improve their livelihoods and that of their households.
- Improve nutrition outcomes among smallholder dairy households through food systems entry points.
Primary Functions & Responsibilities:
In addition to the general duties described above. Specific duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Clean, analyze, and input data collected from the field on a weekly basis.
- Update the program MEAL Package as required
- Support the planning of program events such as internal and external meetings, workshops, and training sessions by coordinating the required logistics, developing communication material, and updating the program factsheet
- Together with the program director, track, harmonize, and provide updates on project events to ensure that there are no overlaps and ensure that the program director is aware of all activities
- Assist the program director to send out routine communication to the program team, and internal and external stakeholders
- Assist in the preparation of status and progress reports by gathering information and other inputs, and preparing tables, charts, and draft sections of it as required.
- Attend meetings, drafts minutes, and ensures timely approval and distribution;
- Draft routine correspondence and proofread materials in English, applying effective proofreading and grammar skills;
- Proactively reminds the program director and technical leads of future project events/meetings and workshops and manage the program director’s calendar;
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Excellent organizational, and problem-solving skills and attention to detail is essential;
- Working Knowledge of MS Office Packages and standard office equipment (scanner, photocopier, printer, projector, etc.)
- Strong communication skills (written & spoken) in English language is required;
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
- Experience in developing compelling PowerPoint presentations and infographics is required.
- Experience carrying out related tasks with a donor-funded project in a fast-paced environment as an added advantage.
Travel: 10% Local
