Job Description
This position reports to the Chief Investment Officer.
The Investment Operations Manager provides a consolidation point for all investment outreach and operation in MOFI. The position holder will be responsible for managing investment operations resources and provide reporting on performance of MOFI’s investment programs.
Responsibilities:
- Analyse investment market values and reconcile to the custodian bank and external analytical systems.
- Responsible for managing all reporting from the investment operations function including key risk indicators, summary of investment performance and. Calendars for all investment approval bodies/committees.
- Propose and manage systems and processes for efficient reporting of investment data and performance by Investment Analysts
- Drive and support continuous improvement in efficiency and productivity within the investment operations function.
- Manage pipeline of investment deals and recommendation through approving bodies and committees.
- Support development of investment annual investment goals, and monitor performance of the team to ensure that objectives are met.
- Capture investment management fees for each investment and create analytic reports based on asset classes.
- Manage the resource pool and ensure that the function is adequately staffed internally and supported externally as may be required.
- Review, file, and disseminate the inflow of investment valuations, quarterly reports, tax information, and other communications from investment managers and investment vehicles
- Develop and manage plans to address investment’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats
Qualifications, Experience, and Attributed Skills:
- Advanced Degree preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience in Investment management including direct experience managing Investment Analysts and Managers.
- An In-depth knowledge of the financial details like accounts, analysis of financial statements, securities and stock market working and investment strategies
- Excellent knowledge of computer applications for analysis of data and preparation of investment plans using the latest technology.
- Ability to spot errors and to work with extreme precision
- Creativity and the ability to think out of the box to formulate innovative strategies
- Exceptional planning, analytical and execution skills
- Excellent communication and motivation skills.
- A detailed understanding of the principles and frameworks behind successful operational asset management in a fast-paced investment environment, including quality planning, project/milestone planning, risk management, dependency management, and reporting.
- Proficient use of Microsoft office.
