As BandLab’s A&R Scout (Nigeria), you will be responsible for building reports on emerging and trending talent using existing industry data platforms, analysing the market potential of talent and getting on the ground to discover high-potential creators in Nigeria and West Africa.


What You Will Do



  • Develop a process for data discovery, evaluating music industry insights and identifying emerging and trending artists

  • Generate reports on emerging artists in Nigeria by monitoring music and streaming charts, social and analytics services to discover quality music, provide detailed insights that support identification, evaluation, decision making and communicate findings to key stakeholders across the company

  • Regularly research local labels, communities, trends and events

  • Assist with scouting for new talent & potential collaborators in Nigeria

  • Define the attributes, contribution and fanbase of trending and emerging artists in the West Africa region

  • Analyse the market potential of trending and emerging talent in the region

  • Fulfil ad-hoc A&R research needs for the CEO, COO and other senior leadership


Requirements



  • You have 2+ years of experience in A&R

  • Able to work remotely from Lagos, Nigeria

  • You live and breathe the local music scene and understand the needs of West African music creators

  • You are curious and self-motivated to find undiscovered and trending talent

  • Proficient with data platforms such as Chartmetric and Airtable

  • Solid understanding of the modern digital landscape and music marketplace

  • You have the ability to communicate technical ideas to non-technical audiences

  • Fluency in written and spoken English

  • Experience in and passion for music is a must
