Job Description
Job Responsibilities include
- Overseeing the Operations of the church office and assisting the pastors and staff with a variety of administrative duties.
- Managing schedules, filing and generating programs for service.
- Answer phone calls in the church office, make outgoing calls such as ordering materials and pick up supplies as needed.
- Photocopying documents as needed/ requested.
- Record deposit and individual records of contributions.
- Complete Clerical tasks as necessary including typing, filing and copying.
- Read and respond to Emails.
- Refer visitors and parishioners to pastors.
- Prepare and maintain mailing lists and church roasters.
- Perform general office work, and maintain supplies and suppliers for various projects.
- File sermon reports, correspondence and other assigned materials.
- Welcome visitors, address questions and assist them with any problem.
- Assist in planning church events.
- Creates, update and help distribute church event calendar.
- Maintain all church records such as information regarding baptism and marriage.
- Keep office clean and orderly.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the pastor.
Basic Skill Requirements include
- Possess an HND in relevant fields with 4 - 5 years work experience.
- Should be able to demonstrate patience and understanding when dealing with confused grieving or difficult visitors to the office.
- Posses good telephone and communication skills.
- Have good bookkeeping procedures and good organizational skill.
- Should be friendly and courteous.
- Should possess knowledge of publishing, wordprocessing and financial computer software
- Pay close attention to details
- Should be capable of effectively multitasking on a regular basis.
- Should have the ability to think creatively, for purpose of designing the website and other widely distributed church materials.
