Job Description
The Company is a leading processor of cocoa beans and other agricultural commodities in Nigeria, with a combined current processing capacity of 48,000MT per annum, spread across three factories in South-West and North-West Nigeria.
- The Company is also a leading exporter of Sesame, Soybean and other agricultural commodities, as well as a large local trader of rice paddy to domestic rice mills.
- One of its subsidiaries is a leading producer of confectioneries, including Biscuits, 3-in-1 Instant Drink, Pure Cocoa Powder, Coco Pops, Choco cubes, etc.
- To strengthen its finance team, the Company is seeking to enlist the services of an experienced professional in a Financial Planning and Analysis role.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepare management financial reports on a periodic basis (monthly, quarterly and semi-annually), in a manner which enables management and the Board to understand the Company’s financial performance and position in great detail;
- Act as Finance Business Partner for the Sales and Production teams, supporting them on requirements from the finance team and vice versa
- Perform extensive trend and comparative analysis on the Company’s financial statements, in order to provide the management team with appropriate guidance on strategic decision-making
- Provide information on product performance- by sales growth, margins, as well as contributions to overall cost profile and profitability
- Provide latest estimates of likely year-end financial performance, to be updated on a monthly or quarterly basis;
- Take primary responsibility for the Company’s budgeting process, by partnering with all necessary teams- in building the budget before year-start and also monitoring actual performance (monthly and quarterly), relative to budget
- Estimate working capital requirements of the business on a monthly or quarterly basis, to determine capital requirements ahead of time
- Review and analyze long-term investment plans of the business (including capex and business acquisitions) requirements of the business and estimate their potential to add value to the business
- Support the CFO on capital raising processes, particularly from an analysis and information provision perspective.
Requirements
- Degree in finance and/or management, such as Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or Economics. However, a non-business related degree may be substituted with substantial experience
- Accounting certification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) will be a minimum requirement
- Four to seven years cognate experience in a similar financial analysis role for a manufacturing company or other corporates
- Experience with capital budgeting techniques and company valuation will also be favourably considered.
- Similar FP&A experience in other manufacturing companies based in Nigeria or West Africa
- Very strong capabilities in Microsoft Excel, financial analysis and modelling
- Excellent presentation, communication (written and oral) and relationship building skills.
- Commercial mindset, able to help colleagues think through problems (finance related or not) and proffer useful solutions
