Summary / Objectives

• The main responsibility of the Head of Micro Loan is to develop qualitatively and quantitively the micro loan and micro saving book. both in number and in volume with effectiveness and efficiency.


• To achieve profitability and productivity of the microloan in every single Baobab branch and ensure full compliance to Baobab and regulator policy and procedures.

Job Description

• Put in place micro loan and micro saving strategy from promotion, acquisition and retention of micro clients


• Train and supervise the microloan staff through the Branch manager so that they add value through their performance, they can be motivated and build a good career with the Bank


• Build, develop and manage the microloan and micro saving portfolio of the bank


• Participate in recovery and collection and make sure the recovery and collection process are respected by all branches


• Ensure the PMs get the maximum support for a very good productivity.


• Periodical assessment of the service to micro loan and micro saving should be done for a better Baobab client experience.


• Coordinate with all other departments to ensure that all branches in the zone run their operations with necessary supports


• Provides regular report on effectiveness and efficiency of the operations activities, portfolio status at the branches to management for analysis and decision making.


• Support the handling of customers’ complaints according to the different levels of authorization.


• Review audit reports of all assigned branches and ensure rate of error are minimal while all audit issues are promptly resolved.


• Review operational risk of the bank so as to comply with internal and external regulations


• Participate in branch expansion, brand management and business development activities.

Competency/ Skill Requirements

• Candidates should possess an HND / B.Sc Degree


• Having at least 5 year experience in a micro loan and saving managerial position


• Good experience of the micro loan and micro saving market in Nigeria


• Good working knowledge of operations banking processes.


• Good customer relationship management.


• Business Performance Management.


• Financial analysis / Interpretation.
