Job Summary



  • The Project Officer will be responsible for ensuring effective implementation of project activities and tasks to attain goals and objectives of KHEFA.

  • He will be responsible for overseeing project work-plan performance, participating in planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring, reporting and programme development.


Responsibilities and Duties

Program Management Support:



  • Support the Programme Manager to define project tasks and resource requirements

  • Support in developing, implementing and updating project management tools including financial plans, trackers and systems

  • Provide technical assistance in developing project work plans and appropriately costing inputs and resources

  • Support the Programme manager in writing proposals to donors and following up with donors.

  • Participate in outreach planning programmes including engagement of stakeholders in communities and deployment of personnel for outreaches.

  • Support the relationship management of stakeholders, partners and donors, including preparation of terms of reference (TORs), budgets and on-going management of inputs and deliverables

  • Support the Programme Manager in coordinating training activities of the academy.

  • Support in managing the training calendar of trainees in the Academy.

  • Undertake other program administration tasks as assigned


Data Management, Documentation and Reporting:



  • Ensure high quality data recording and periodic reporting according to project timeframes

  • Responsible for managing project database and other M &E tools

  • Provide support to the Programme Manager on data retrieval from outreach coordinators

  • Support activities of learning at respective institutions and ensure they are properly documented, disseminated and effectively stored

  • Assist in Coordinating the development of reports, newsletters and other communication of the institutions

  • Collate weekly vision center reports and routinely verify reports generated

  • Provide technical assistance in the review of data from health facilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports


External Relations:



  • Maintain and regularly update a directory of partners, donors, international and local NGOs, companies and other partners and stakeholders

  • Assist in developing and managing relationships with local and international stakeholders, using these to support the development of new partnerships and programmes

  • Represent the institutions externally in some circumstances (media, speaking opportunities, event representation, exhibitions and workshops)

  • Work with the Progamme Manager in Coordinating visibility and profile raising of the organizations across various platforms - including advertisements, events, communications, programmes, promotions aimed at sponsors, promoters, partners, influencers and general public.


Qualification and Experience



  • Minimum of B.Sc Degree in Public Health or medical related degree from a reputable institution.

  • Minimum of 3 years NGO experience is mandatory

  • Experience in training, development and interventions is an added advantage

  • Must be an intermediate user of Microsoft Office Suite {Word, Excel, and PowerPoint}
