Job Description

• Defines project responsibilities by identifying project scope, phases and elements.


• Defines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.


• Participate in defining the overall project planning and scheduling, directly supervising the finalization of engineering plans and schedule.


• Determining the appropriate materials, processes, and equipment needed to meet project goals within the specified timeframe and budget


• Coordinating with other departments such as engineering or human resources, as needed, to ensure that all project requirements are met


• May assist with the management of New Business C&I and customer or district-driven isolated service pipeline projects, as needed, which are smaller scale, shorter duration, and typically involved medium pressure pipelines, and reports on project timelines, milestones, and performance measures.


• Monitoring the work of engineers, and contractors to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget


• Fully supporting the safe, timely and cost-effective delivery of PJ project designs, meeting the required safety, quality & performance criteria.


• Manage a team of Pipeline engineers, designers and draftsmen in the preparation of project Pipeline engineering designs.


• Preparation of both engineering documentation and drawings.


• Ensuring the necessary quality checking of every document and drawing issued within the Pipeline discipline.


• Take necessary technical decisions in case of unresolved conflicts between disciplines, ensuring that the engineering team properly interfaces with other project team members.


• Managing vendors and contractors to ensure that they meet project requirements


• Conducting regular site visits to monitor project progress and ensure quality control


• Reviewing designs and making recommendations for changes to improve efficiency or safety


• Working with company policy and business leaders; supporting Commercial Department in external tender process and reviewing technical tender dossiers as may be required


• Project Documentation, Project briefs, end-stage reports, highlight reports and business cases,


• Project planning, resource allocation, and monitoring, estimating and budget management


• Defending project budgets, with clear milestones and deliverables as well as effectively managing project’s cash flow.


• Project communications, checkpoint meetings, alignment meetings, project board meetings, and communication plans,


• Stakeholder engagement and Management of relationships with subcontractors, community, regulatory authorities, and other relevant stakeholders in the best interest of the organization.


• Managing project teams, both external suppliers/vendors and internal staff.


• Providing leadership for the implementation of project safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives during the engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up phase,


• Interfacing with the Community relation teams to have proper alignment with the project-impacted community.


• Keeps records on work performed for alignment with Client/Subcontractor to prevent unnecessary variation and extra work.


• Exercises control over the rate of pipeline progress in order to complete pipeline projects within time limits, and schedules jobs and operations. Giving support to the Project Controls Teams in Project Wok scheduling, Work plan monitoring, and Project lapse prevention.


• Leads inspection and commission of day-to-day project work to enforce conformity to specifications adequacy and effectiveness of the quality system in satisfying project quality and other compliance requirements.


• Project Reporting – Interfacing with the Project Service Engineers by reviewing the Daily, Weekly, and Monthly site reports for proper Project Reporting.


• Deals with individuals demanding information or services, such as agencies, departmental heads, or others such as Project Controls, HSE, CSR, etc.


• Provision of leadership, supervision, technical guidance, and mentoring to personnel,


• Monitoring and appraising project activities to ensure consistency with engineering drawings, design specifications, client standards, safe work practices, and applicable codes,


• Planning and implementation of the construction phase execution strategies, resource planning, daily interfaces with the Client’s Project Engineers to ensure alignment with contract obligation, technical specifications and terms and conditions,


• Serving as project Team’s line supervisor for safety management and suggesting remedial steps in areas of deficiencies,


• Supervises project material procurement and makes provision for any shortfall materials,


• Ensuring effective Mechanical Completion, Pre-commissioning, Commissioning, and Start-up.


• Provision of Post Start-up servicing such as early facility maintenance as may be required and stipulated in the Contract.


• Ensuring effective project closeout.
