Job Summary:


 This is a key role within Welcome2Africa International’s research and policy team. You will be responsible for leading, managing and delivering high profile research and development work, and supporting colleagues within the organisation to do the same.


 You are likely to have been a Principal Investigator on medium to large-scale research projects and you are dedicated to very high-quality research. You will enjoy the challenge of managing teams on complicated projects with many moving parts. You will have a strong practical understanding of both quantitative and qualitative evaluation design and analysis techniques.


Job Description: 



  •  Responsible for the overall development and implement of W2A’s research and policy department, this includes business development/client generation activities 

  • Collaborate with key private sector players  and relevant stakeholders to develop logical frameworks for the production of research and policy outputs around Investments and Trade in Nigeria and beyond.  

  • Working and contribute to other departments namely, growth, programs, and investments and trade. Support in the development of W2A website, includingfact sheets, issue briefs, data briefs, infographics, blog posts, and reports, as well as drafting components of peer-reviewed publications. 

  • Assess the scope of research projects and ensure they are on time and within the budget. 

  • Conduct feasibility studies on behalf of investors and give advisory services where needed. 

  •  Support in the recruitment of personnel for research department 

  • Work with the program manager, investment analyst, communications lead in the design, implementation and management of Welcome2Africa International programs, identify opportunities for new initiatives or program expansion towards achieving the organizations vision and mission. 

  • Determine areas of research to increase knowledge as well as revenue generation in various sectors. 

  • Coordinating policy implementation and review.

  • Work with the program manager, investment analyst, communications lead in the design, implementation and management of Welcome2Africa Internationalprograms, identify opportunities for new initiatives or program expansion towards achieving the organizations vision and mission.

Job Requirements:



  •  Mentoring and coaching experience and the ability to lead research teams;

  • Masters in a quantitative discipline from a top university. Other relevant trainings and certifications are required

  •  Demonstrated ability to manage large and time-bound research;

  •  Willingness to travel and support field teams where necessary

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to understand client needs.

  •  Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint);

  • Strong sense of urgency to complete tasks.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Make appropriate informed decisions, regarding priorities and available time

  • Resourceful, can-do attitude

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment

  •  High degree of professionalism in dealing with diverse groups of people.
