The Back of House (BOH) Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day Back-Of-House restaurant operations run smoothly.
To do so, the BOH manager must ensure that the kitchen is appropriately staffed, proper prep is completed for the day, and manage the pace of service while adhering to health and safety standards.
The BOH manager will be responsible for training and managing staff and must be knowledgeable of the respective standards for each.
He or she will also be responsible for completing the inventory of food and kitchen supplies and reporting it to the business office. The BOH manager must be committed to team member and guest safety and follow all proper food service guidelines. This is a working manager position.
Job Expectations
Maintain a clean facility and report any maintenance or repair needs as they arise.
Ensure all ingredients are properly stored, rotated, organized, and easily accessible.
Execute the maintenance schedule for equipment.
Complete inventory counts for food and kitchen supplies, receiving them as they arrive.
Prepare the cook line for service and assist with cooking duties.
Manage personnel while working closely with the FOH manager to do so.
Open and close restaurant/back of house following the processes in place.
Identify and address customer needs, concerns, and issues as identified and communicated by the FOH Manager.
Report team member and guest injuries to the BOH Director.
Enforce food standards, quality, and consistency.
Anything else needed or asked for.
Job Requirements
HND in Hospitality Management or a related field.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the hospitality industry.
At least 6 months of experience in a similar capacity.
Experience in varied kitchen positions, including food preparation, line cooking, frying, and expediting.
Strong leadership skills
Possess strong organizational and decision-making skills.
Work well in a fast-paced setting.
Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
