Our client, the world’s largest off-grid solar energy company with presence in Africa and Asia and with products that serves an estimated 53million people across 35 countries is seeking to appoint a seasoned General Manager, Sales.


Job Description


Reporting to the co-founder, you will be responsible for:


Building, mentoring and managing a high performing sales organization covering both direct sales, partnerships management and business development team.


In your capacity managing the partnerships business, you will:



  • Oversee a close-knit account management and business development team focused on recruiting new, high-potential partners and supporting the partners to expand their sales.

  • Foster strong direct relationships with key and potential distribution partners

  • Represent the company at industry-level events and engagements

  • Deliver on revenue, business development, account management and profitability goal.


In your capacity leading new pay-as-you-go country businesses, you will:



  • Establish and grow a large team of field-based staff and indirect agents

  • Drive field team to deliver on sales, collections and customer service KPIs

  • Lead coordination between risk, call center and technology teams to ensure seamless setup and execution of company processes

  • Deliver on people, sales, repayment performance and profitability goals


Qualifications



  • 10+ years of sales and P&L management experience

  • Experience building and managing high-performing teams in direct and indirect channel sale

  • Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to help teams understand performance data, identify opportunities and scale the business overall

  • Experience working with C-level executives and track record of influencing behaviors at a variety of levels in the organization including cross functional leaders.
