Be the one tlead the development of the local accounting function;
Summarizes the organization's current financial status by collecting information; preparing a balance sheet, profit and loss statement, preparation of monthly and yearly financial statements and other reports;
Perform statutory accounting functions for the regulator and various authorities;
Ensuring deductions and prompt remittance of necessary schedules and various statutory deductions i.e
VAT, PAYEE, CIT, pension Fund etc.;
Direct involvement with month-end close procedures including preparing account reconciliations. Journal entries and other supporting/tracking schedules;
Verify and ensure timely payment of vendor invoices and ensure payments are charged tthe appropriate accounts;
Payroll administration;
Monitor compliance in line with accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
Key Requirements
Minimum of 5 years experience in accounting
B.Sc / HND in Accounting or related discipline.
Strong experience/knowledge in Financial Reporting.
Experience in financial institutions.
Taxation and IFRS background will be a plus.
Strong computer aptitude, which includes: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Accounting software (preferably Xero).
