JOB DECRIPTION FOR POLICY OFFICER
Major responsibilities include.
- Identify and explore opportunities for cross-sectoral work on improving health outcomes in Nigeria with major focus on PPPs including developing a framework for quality health programs
- Support project coordination and partner collaboration to ensure timely communication, information sharing, and quality project implementation
- Coordinate and support work planning, budgeting, and reporting.
- Provide support to research including desk and literature review, key informant interviews, and surveys.
- S/he will also design/review research materials and produce briefing and synthesis documents/reports for meetings and technical consultations.
- S/he will support preparation for and implementation of research, including communicating with program and research partners, maintaining timelines and documentation of research activities, and planning for and supporting implementation of research
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of contractual agreements with organizations and consultants; monitor, review, and manage approval of invoices.
- Facilitate efficient communication with donors, partners, and consultants; S/he will also establish and implement systems for partner, consultant, and field communication.
- Participate in communicating of the PSHAN’s vision, activities, and research results; develop/review external-facing presentations, website content, blogs, briefs, and reports
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Organize meetings and policy events (e.g regular donor meetings, technical expert group meetings) Support new business development initiatives as needed including responding to funding opportunities and development of proposals and other fund raising activities
- Represent PSHAN at meetings and events while supporting the development of policy briefs, and to develop strategy to inform programs implementation.
- Support the development and maintenance of a database for the Nigerian healthcare sector, covering health statistics and health philanthropy.
Qualifications
- Degree in any of the health-related disciplines
- Professional certification in project management.
- Previous NGO experience is a pre-requisite.
- Post graduate degree in the Health Sciences, Finance or Management
