Key Responsibilities

• Manages the day-to-day operations of all production activities to include safety, quality, schedule adherence and cost. Supports and directs department managers and other subordinates to accomplish these goals.


• Promotes a safe working environment. Continually identifies safety improvements and take appropriate action. Promotes continual improvements.


• Reviews data to reduce rework and customer complaints. Holds associates accountable when quality standards are not maintained. Identifies causes of poor quality and takes measures to root cause and eliminate the problem.


• Ensures the production plant is producing product by date in every department. Adjusts department hours to address bottlenecks and slack labour daily.


• Flags late and rush orders to provide a visual means of managing production order.


• Works with HR to fill open vacancies that prohibit meeting weekly schedules.


• Maintains awareness of and supports Company programs, policies, rules, etc.


• Holds production plant workforce accountable to safety, quality, and productivity standards.


• Plan, organize, coordinate and manage furniture production including upholstery section efficiently and effective.


• Interpret, analyse and process job orders to finished goods. Generate accurate cutting list and production drawings (using Auto cad) from job orders


• Establish and execute quality control processes in collaboration with quality control Manager with overall responsibility for quality control assurance.


• Create strategy, drive implementation, monitor compliance and write effective progress report suitable for reference and decision-making.


• Increase capacity utilization and furniture productivity to 80% average.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, wood technology or its equivalent


• Professional certification is a plus


• 10+ years’ experience in the contemporary furniture manufacturing industry.


• Ability to operate automated machines in furniture plant


• Ability to program and operate automated machines like:  CNC processing mcn, Edge banding mcn, Beam saw mcn, Carcase clamp mcn, Drilling boring mcn, Hot-pressing mcn, sanding  mcn , Automatic spindle moulder, Semi-panel saws and various traditional machine


• Must possess high regard for attention to detail


• Must possess sound knowledge of furniture production processes


• Proficiency in use of Excel, word and Autocad


• Leadership and motivational ability


• Written and oral communication skills


• Problem solving and innovative skills
