Present lessons in an interactive, engaging and practical manner while using visual/audio means to facilitate learning
Provide personalised instruction to each student and ensure that lessons are learner-centred
Create and distribute educational content (notes, summaries, assignments etc.)
Assessing and recording student progress and providing regular feedback to students and parents/guardians
Ensures that the classroom is a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment that fosters student learning and growth.
Maintains a tidy and orderly classroom and classroom culture where all students feel included and valued
Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies
Takes ownership of the vision and mission of the school
Collaborate with other teachers, parents and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings
Participating in professional development opportunities to continuously improve teaching practices
Job Qualification
Possess an NCE or Bachelor’s degree; preference will be given to individuals with several years of demonstrated experience working with children. Experience working in low-income communities is a plus, but not required.
Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures
Demonstrate the ability to work with a team.
Embody strong moral values and interpersonal skills to manage groups of students.
Possess a positive belief in the mission and vision of the school.
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of student information.
Working knowledge of effective methods of managing, caring, and promoting positive behaviours with children.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; ability to communicate with school personnel, students, and parents.
Physical ability and dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job.
Must be living in or around the Ota community and environs
