Detailed Job Description



  • Takes charge of all in-land logistics operations, between all the 2 company sites, its suppliers, partners, and customers.

  • It covers all goods flows in Nigeria: imported products, commodities, finished products, and exported products.

  • Supervises and controls the mains logistics missions 

  • Manages all the teams directly linked to in-land logistics operations (from the arrival of imported products to delivery to customers) 

  • Manages all the teams involved in operations within the warehouses

  • Supervisory and coordination functions, and is in direct contact with the Import, Finance, and sales department of the company, as well as with the external services providers.

  • Responsible for designing and organizing operational strategies with the purpose of ensuring the flow of products and goods :

  • Operates with a constant desire to optimize quality/costs/deadlines

  • Supervises the possible outsourcing of storage and transport with the transport Manager.

  • Manages relations with service providers, suppliers, and manufacturing partners and proposes specific agreements to be put in place with those partners, with the support of the Finance and Administrative Manager.

  • Beyond operational responsibilities, he/she is a referent within the company on methodologies and tools for improving all operations performances, especially by the implementation of KPI to monitor all activities of performance at all levels of the activities of the operations: Stock flow,  logistics, warehouses progress work, suppliers, customers satisfaction.

  • Designs and implements action plans approved by the/she MD to reduce costs, lead times, stocks, better procurement, and sourcing and to best satisfy customers.

  • Uses practices from Lean manufacturing, Kaisen, pull flow systems and FIFO concepts in the/she management of products in stocks.

  • Fully master ERP system and keep all data up-to-date.

  • Ensures good coordination and its improvement, if necessary, between the sales team and the customer deliveries.

  • Supervises the compliance of the operating processes between the

  • teams (invoices/Way bills/Delivery/ Delivery Slip).

  • Works in close collaboration with the Financing, Import & Administrative Operations Manager on the aspects of cost reduction and processes to put in place.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE



  • Applicants must possess theoretical and practical knowledge of Logistics, transport, operations, and Supply chain strong knowledge with at least 5 years of experience in a relevant position

  • Posses implementation skills and monitoring

  • Planning and inventory management skills

  • Strong performance monitoring experiences and management skills

  • Driving license

  • Skills and knowledge in Lean Manufacturing, Kaisen, Pull flow system, and FIFO management;

  • Analysis and synthesis abilities.

  • Master ERP system

  • Master office automation tools (excel, word, powerpoint)

  • Should be available to work with little or no supervision

  • Charism, leadership, smart and agile.

  • Methodical, organized, and rigorous ;

  • Reactive, attentive and customer-orientated.

  • Proactive and Dynamic;

  • Abilities in the management of problems or emergency cases.

  • Cost killing driven
