Job Description



Responsibilities:



  • Ensure timely preparation of monthly management accounts and financial information which provides a complete and accurate picture of the Company’s financial position

  • Oversee the execution of the Company’s budgeting and budgetary control process to achieve the agreed corporate objectives.

  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the accounting records.

  • Coordinate the analysis and synthesis of the Company’s financial and non-financial information which provides a basis for sound business decisions by executive management.        

  • Protect the Company’s interest by ensuring that relevant statutory and regulatory reports/returns regarding the Company’s financial affairs are generated on a timely basis. e.g., statutory returns, including Tax, Pension & VAT returns.      

  • Implement effective tax planning strategies for the company and ensure full compliance with relevant tax laws.        

  • Oversee the preparation of the Company’s annual budget and monitor the implementation to minimize overruns and achieve the desired objectives.       

  • Supervise the implementation of budgetary mechanisms to proactively identify and manage budget/ performance variances by the business sectors.   

  • Authorize expenditure/ transactions in line with the Company’s approved authority limit      

  • Periodically review key Company Finance activity and performance reports and take appropriate action to ensure the Company’s business objectives are achieved.

  • Liaise with internal and external auditors (where applicable) and deal with any financial irregularities as they arise.

  • Cashflow forecasting and Reconciliation of actual performance against forecasts.       

  • Working closely with external auditors to prepare the statutory financial reports/year-end audit.     

  • Preparing and reporting of key KPI’s for the business

  • Track the company’s financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement

  • Managing, reporting, and reconciling all intercompany costs

  • Research and analyze financial reports and market trends


Requirements



  • Minimum of second class upper in Accounting, Banking & Finance from a reputable institution.

  • Advanced knowledge SAGE and professional certification ACA, ACCA, CPA etc. is compulsory

  • Master’s degree in accounting or related courses is an added advantage

  • Relevant knowledge of local accounting rules, tax, IFRS

  • 8 years+ relevant experience in financial management/ accounting

  • In-depth understanding of business bookkeeping procedures

  • Solid knowledge of accounting regulations

  • Numerate and articulate in handling statistics and interpreting information for communication to all levels within the business

  • Flexible, well organized with lots of initiative, energy, and personal motivation

  • Results-oriented and determined in resolving issues and achieving objectives

  • A keen eye for detail and a desire to probe further into data       

  • Ability to stick to time constraints

  • Consistent, accurate, and thorough
