  • This role involves the application of principles of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism to develop electrical products and systems.

  • You will perform risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety standards and electrical engineering codes.

  • You will work closely with other engineers, technicians, and stakeholders to ensure that the designs are cost-effective, safe, and perform well.


Responsibilities



  • Project planning, supervision and implementation, Site supervision, technical reports.

  • Electrical designs which include overall load calculations, sizing of cables and selection of electrical equipment.

  • Electrical infrastructural designs which include underground/overhead HV and LV distribution systems.

  • Preparation of Workshop and As-built drawings using Auto-CAD Applications

  • Preparation of operation and maintenance manuals of equipment and fittings used in a particular project.

  • Preparation of scope of work for the project, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Inspection Test plan (ITP), Project execution plan (PEP) and Material preservation plan.

  • Identify and solve technical problems on sites.

  • Liaising with consultants, sub-contractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce.

  • Ensure safe construction methods and procedures.

  • Manage and ensure timely completion of construction works.


Requirements and Qualifications



  • HND / B.Sc in Electrical Engineering; MSc is a plus.

  • A minimum of 15 years work experience in building services.

  • Proficient in the use of CAD and other design software.

  • Excellent communication skills – written & verbal.

  • Leadership and management skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Good troubleshooting skills & attention to detail.

  • Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing electrical systems.

  • Ensure designs meet legal guidelines and safety requirements.
