We are looking for a committed Class Teacher to complement our qualified workforce of educators. You will be responsible for preparing and implementing a full educational teaching plan according to the school’s requirements. It will be fundamental to provide knowledge and instruction to students while also helping them develop their personalities and skills.
The ideal candidate will be passionate for the job with an ability to reach out to students and create a relationship of mutual trust. They will know how to organize a class and make learning an easy and meaningful process. The goal is to help cultivate the students’ interest in education and be their dedicated ally in the entire process of learning and development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Planning and delivering engaging, relevant, and challenging lessons in the subject area, such as mathematics, science, language arts, history, or a foreign language.
- Assessing and evaluating student progress in the subject area, providing feedback, and developing individualized learning plans as needed.
- Creating a positive and safe learning environment that promotes student engagement and understanding of the subject matter.
- Communicating effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, including regular reporting on student progress in the subject area.
- Collaborating with other subject teachers to plan and coordinate instructional activities and school-wide programs.
- Participating in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in the subject area and to improve teaching skills.
- Being knowledgeable about the subject matter and staying informed about current trends and developments in the field.
- Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age and ethnic background
- Write and maintain relevant records for individual student files and write reports..
- Participate in the maintaining of high standards of behavior and uniform of students in the classroom and in all school locations and activities. Students both on and off the school premises when students are under the school’s jurisdiction
- Actively support the values, vision, ethics, culture and policies of the school
- Inspire and motivate students, teachers and other school employees
- Comply with the professional duties of the staff Code of Conduct
- Contribute to a school culture which is positive, purposeful and professional
- Take a fair and appropriate share of duties.
- Maintain a teaching load appropriate to the position, including the participation of Enrichment Activities if appropriate.
- Take responsibility for curriculum delivery and associated resources in a manner consistent with school and departmental policies and procedures
- Make effective use of formative and summative assessment to plan challenging learning opportunities for all students;
- Monitor and record students’ learning to ensure they remain on track to achieve and exceed expectations;
- Present lessons in a comprehensive manner.
- Provide individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning
- Create and distribute educational content (notes, summaries, assignments etc.)
- Assess and record students’ progress and provide grades and feedback
- Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom
- Collaborate with other teachers, parents and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings
- Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities and events
- Observe and understand students’ behavior and psyche and report suspicions of neglect, abuse etc.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in education or its equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Class Teacher
- Must be able to teach English
- Must be a Certified Teacher (TRCN)
- Must have practical knowledge of the British curriculum
- Good understanding of classroom activities and teaching best practices.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
- Good attention to details
- Must have a compassionate and positive attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
