Job Summary

• To accurately weigh and record all materials received into the mill and all dispatches out of the mill and ensure compliance with the set weight tolerances, internal controls and safety requirements.


• The Weighbridge Clerk offers accurate weight information of all materials received into the plant and all dispatches out of the plant while ensuring compliance with the set weight tolerances, internal controls, and safety requirements.


• Perform daily weighbridge test and notify Management of any Deviations. Maintain order in the Weigh Bridge Office, the work area, and the area around the weighbridge.


• Efficiently input data onto the weighbridge from vehicles collecting/delivering to the sit


• To carry out the production of set management information system


• Raising of purchase orders including adding documents and recording received goods/services.


• Resolving all invoice/purchase order queries for the site ensuring KPI’s are met.


• Ensuring all weighbridge/customer queries are resolved and actioned.


• Ensure the trucks is properly positioned on the weighbridge then receive the Loading/ Delivery document from the driver to verify that they match the physical truck on the weighbridge.


• Issue the Loading document to the driver on the outbound process and release the truck for loading/offloading.


• Following the Truck loading and proper positioning on the weighbridge, take the second weigh if it is within the set tolerance limit. If the truck is under/ overweight, print the rejection slip with the reason indicated, issue it to the driver and send him back to the packing plant for corrective action. This case must be recorded in the exception case report.


• Follow truck off-loading and proper positioning on the weighbridge confirm the truck has off-loaded all the material. If for reason, the truck hasn’t off-loaded everything, acknowledge the transaction in ERP as part of receipt and take the weight. If the truck has off-loaded all the material, acknowledge the transaction in ERP as a full receipt and take the weight.


• Prepare daily weighbridge report to the mill manager, accountant, and general manager always and treat all document/ information as confidential. It is considered unethical to divulge any information to external parties without authorization.


• Check proper functioning of the weighbridge, communication and computer equipment and timely replacement of printer cartridges and printing papers to avoid any truck delays. Report any Malfunctioning immediately it’s noted as per the escalation procedure and follow up on the repairs.


• Ensure proper housekeeping around the weighbridge and especially the gaps between the weigh platform and the foundation for accurate weighing.


• Ensure that any exceptions are brought to the attention of the management as necessary to protect the company’s interest.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess an HND in Logistics, Purchasing and Supplies or Engineering or any related course.


• Must have 2-4 years relevant experience


• Basic Reporting Skills


• Computer Literacy Skills i.e. Excel, MS Office


• High level of integrity and honesty.


• Good Communications and interpersonal skill.


• Team Player and good at time Management and Organizational Skill.


• Initiative, Drive and ability to work with Minimal supervision.


• Ability to work under pressure.
