Job Description



  • The Head of Portfolio Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the organization's investment portfolio.

  • They work closely with the Head of Portfolio Planning and Strategy and other members of the C-Suite to ensure that the organization's investment operations align with its overall goals and objectives.

  • The Head of Portfolio Operations is responsible for managing investment operations, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards, and optimizing portfolio performance.


Responsibilities



  • Develop and implement operational strategies and processes to support the portfolio management team.

  • Oversee the daily management of the investment portfolio, including monitoring performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.

  • Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure that investment decisions are aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.

  • Manage and mentor the portfolio operations team, including conducting performance evaluations and providing training and development opportunities.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, such as investment managers, custodians, and vendors.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.

  • Analyse market trends and conditions to identify potential risks and opportunities.

  • Prepare reports and presentations for the senior leadership team and the board of directors.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of investment strategies.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Educational Qualifications, Experience, and Attributed Skills



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics Management, or a related field. MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.

  • Professional qualifications such as CFA, CIA, PMP, Prince 2, ACCA, CIMA, etc. desired

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in investment operations, ideally from a complex investment environment.

  • Strong understanding of financial markets, asset classes, and investment operations.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of operations & strategy implementation.

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication abilities.

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve strategic objectives.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Demonstrated success in applying independent judgment.

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office.
