Job Description



  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the administrative and corporate services function of the organization in accordance with the principles and guidelines laid down by the Board of Directors.

  • The COO will coordinate the effective management of the internal operations of the organization while also overseeing the core administrative functions of the organization including Human Resources, Financial Management, General Administration, Corporate Planning, Coordination and Communication as well as procurement.


Responsibilities



  • Ensure systematic internal review of the organization ’s operations to assure alignment with the organization ’s strategic objectives, quality standards, readiness, and compliance with applicable regulations.

  • Raise proposals for enhancement of operational efficiency and other policy-related proposals

  • Maintain accurate consolidated information on key aspects of the organization ’s operations for the Units under the responsibility of the COO.

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Operations Group comprising units across Finance, Human Resources, Procurement, Administration and IT.

  • Lead the preparation of consolidated, strategically-driven and coordinated annual operations plan on the basis of the business plans and other relevant inputs from all the business lines within the organization .

  • Produce and/or coordinate analysis and briefing material and provide the CEO and the Board of Directors with analysis and recommendations to allow policy-level guidance and decision-making on organizational and operational issues and human resources policy matters on both a systematic and on an ad hoc basis.

  • Ensure effective communication within and outside the organization of decisions by the CEO and the Board of Directors, and track the effective implementation of such decisions.

  • Oversee the budgets of the Units under its responsibility to ensure that these Units operate within their respective annual allocations as part of the overall consolidated budget approved for the whole Bank.


Educational Qualifications, Experience, and Attributed Skills



  • BSc / BA in Business Administration or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus

  • Proven 7-10 years of experience as a Chief Operating Office or relevant role

  • Understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, marketing etc.

  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development

  • Experience in fundraising will be a plus

  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics

  • Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure and MS Office

  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills

  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
