Job Function



  • Plan, organize, supervise and participate in the operations and activities of the District Warehouse; train, assign, supervise and evaluate assigned staff.


Duties and Responsibilities



  • Planned, organize, supervise and participate in daily warehouse operations and activities, including the receipt, documentation, storage, safety and distribution of stocks and supplies and maintenance of inventory.

  • Train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned warehouse employees; assign workloads to warehouse workers.

  • Receive, unpack, pack, load, issue, store and deliver Products, and supplies stocks; complete packing slips for shipments as assigned.

  • The route, schedule, pack and prepare orders for delivery; load vehicles; schedule and oversee deliveries and pick-ups.

  • Prepare and maintain a variety of records and logs and prepare reports as required; maintain inventory of items in the warehouse; file records as required; supervise the assembly of inventory printouts and catalogues as required.

  • Monitor automated warehousing system; operate a computer to enter data, correct errors and control key screens as required.

  • Operate and demonstrate the use of specialized warehouse equipment as necessary; assure proper and routine maintenance and servicing of warehouse vehicles and equipment.

  • Ensuring basic maintenance standards and compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Performing a daily inspection of the warehouse grounds.

  • Coordinating and maintaining fleets and equipment.

  • Communicating and coordinating with other departments and customers

  • Lead, educate and develop new employees.

  • Plan daily manpower needs to ensure customers' load is delivered and picked up timely and damage-free.

  • Communicate with dispatch at various managers/distributors and coordinate the movement of the shipment

  • Recruit, and train loaders/drivers

  • Take ownership of vehicle inspections and maintenance on regular bases.

  • Observe health and safety regulations; maintain warehouse in a clean, safe and orderly condition.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain regular attendance.


Educaqtion and Experience



  • HND or B.Sc. Degree in Logistics, Management, Statistics, or a related field preferred.

  • Cautiously optimistic, personable and resolute.

  • At least 3 years experience in FMCG.

  • Previous experience as a warehouse supervisor or a similar management position.

  • Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and management.

  • Time management skills and the ability to delegate.

  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry software.

  • Problem-solving skills.


Knowledge and Abilities:



  • Warehousing and stock control methods and procedures.

  • Methods of receiving, inspecting and issuing materials.

  • Materials, equipment and supplies used in a school district.

  • Operation of a forklift and other assigned vehicles and equipment.

  • Warehouse operations, procedures, equipment and terminology.

  • Space utilization and inventory techniques.

  • Proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies.

  • Health and safety regulations.

  • Record-keeping techniques.

  • Inventory methods and practices.

  • Principles and practices of training and providing work direction.

  • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.

  • Automated warehouse inventory system.
