Role Overview

Our client is one of the largest transport and logistics service provider in Sub-Saharan Africa that spans across the supply chain.


The primary purpose of this role is to work as part of the finance team to provide a high-quality management accounting service to provide the leadership with the financial advice and support they need to deliver quality outcomes for the business.


Job Role

Management accounts and reporting:



  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts, balance sheets, cash flow statements and financial reports within agreed timescales

  • Liaise closely with the Finance Lead to provide a comprehensive accounting support service, including the provision of financial information, analysis and review.

  • Render support to analyze variances and explore potential problems, make recommendations and execute.

  • Support in providing proactive financial advice to the Executive team, actively promoting improved financial awareness

  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of the management accounting service provided, make recommendations, and document ways of developing and improving the quality and timeliness of management information.


System Controls



  • Support in the management, development and review of existing financial controls

  • Maintain controls to ensure that all transactions are authorised in line with policies and procedures

  • Monthly control account reconciliations

  • Support the company’s improvement initiatives


Qualification and Experience



  • First degree in Accounting from a recognized university (minimum of Second Class upper honours).

  • Recently started / minimum of Foundation Level in ACCA or ICAN

  • 2-4 years working as a Junior Management Accountant

  • Significant experience in preparing management and year-end accounts

  • Proven experience in resolving complex accounting problems

  • Proven ability to highlight trends and detect financial inconsistencies when analysing and summarising detailed financial and non-financial information

  • Strong Excel skills - quick and accurate manipulation of data
