Job Summary:
The Grant Specialist will be responsible for identifying, researching, and writing grant proposals for arts, culture, health, and wellbeing programs for the Global South Arts & Health Week. The applicant will work closely with the global management team to develop and execute a comprehensive grant strategy that aligns with our project vision, and values. This position requires a detail-oriented and highly organised individual with excellent communication skills, a strong ability to work collaboratively, and experience in grant writing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct research to identify potential grant opportunities and maintain a database of funding sources.
- Develop and write grant proposals and applications, including budgets and required documentation, in accordance with grant requirements and guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with management, program staff, and other stakeholders to develop proposals that meet the organisation's objectives.
- Manage the grant application process, including tracking deadlines, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, and coordinating with funders and partners.
- Develop and maintain relationships with funders and other stakeholders, including attending meetings and networking events.
- Monitor and report on grant activities and ensure compliance with grant requirements and reporting deadlines.
- Stay current on trends and best practices in grant writing and fundraising.
- Collaborate with development and communications staff to ensure grant-related activities are integrated into overall fundraising and communications strategies.
Qualifications:
- Track records of grants accessed over the years
- Understanding of global development and emerging trends in the field of arts, health, and culture
- Understanding of the intersection between arts and science, research, and best practice.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., non-profit management, communications, public health).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant writing or related fundraising activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of fundraising best practices and grant regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with grant management software preferred.
