Role Overview: 

The Budget Officer will be responsible for Budgeting and Budgetary Control  

What You Will Be Doing:  

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly variance analysis between budget and actual data


• Analyse historical results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements


• Perform market research, data mining, and business intelligence.


• Assist in preparation, operation, and analysis of financial budgets to ensure accomplishment of business financial objectives.


• Contribute to the development of financial models to support business decision making


• Support the delivery of periodic financial audits


• Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and excel dashboards


• Support finance operations to ensure compliance with internal processes, and relevant laws and regulations 

What You Need for This Role:  

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline but preferably in Accounting, Banking or Finance.


• Student membership of ICAN or ACCA or any Professional Accounting body will be an added advantage.


• At least 2 - 3 years’ cognate experience in an Accounting or Finance role.


• Flexibility in thinking and pragmatic problem-solving skills


• Working knowledge of ERP systems


• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS productivity tools


• Time and Priority Management Skills
