Job Description



Responsibilities



  • Lead efforts to develop and improve procedures for automated monitoring and proactive intervention, reducing any need downtime.

  • Develop Stored Procedures and Database Triggers in support of application development.

  • Participate in application development projects and be responsible for the database architecture and design.

  • Participate in the creation of development, staging, and production database instances, and the migration from one environment to another.

  • Modify databases according to requests and perform tests.

  • Solve database usage issues and malfunctions.

  • Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practices.

  • Gather user requirements and identify new features.

  • Develop technical and training manuals.

  • Provide data management support to users.

  • Ensure all database programs meet company and performance requirements.

  • Research and suggest new database products, services and protocols.'


Qualifications



  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience as a Database Developer in a Financial Institution is preferred

  • PostgreSQL database certification is an added advantage


Requirements



  • Knowledge of software development and user interface web applications

  • Hands on experience with SQL

  • Familiarity working with .Net Framework, JavaScript, HTML and Oracle

  • Must be a critical and analytical problem solver.

  • Must be self-driven, self-motivated, and result oriented.

  • Must have excellent spoken and written communication.

  • Must have excellent time skills – showing an ability to organize, prioritize, and balance multiple projects.

  • Must be a great team-player.
