The Front-Of-House manager oversees all operations at our restaurant (except for the kitchen).
The job holder will shape our clients' and customers' experiences by maintaining the dining room’s appearance, training quality staff, and ensuring good customer service.
Front-of-house managers are "people-people" with strong organization and leadership skills.
A talent for conflict resolution is also important for addressing customer complaints and handling staff disputes.
Expectations:
Ensuring incoming staff complies with company policy
Training staff to follow restaurant procedures
Maintaining food safety and quality standards
Open and/or closing schedule with weekend availability
keeping track of employees’ hours
ordering food, linens, gloves, and other supplies while staying within budget limitations
Greeting customers as they walk into the restaurant
Helping guests with reservations and guiding them to their table
Giving guests accurate wait time estimates and seating them in the waiting area
Providing customers with menus and answering any initial questions they may have
Optimizing seating at different tables to ensure an even workload for wait staff
Answering phones and scheduling reservations with large parties
Monitor and maintain proper front office operational supplies
Deal responsibly with payment transactions and maintain strict control of the bills
Ensure each customer receives impeccable service
Dealing with customer inquiries and reservations accurately and promptly
Handle guest situations as they arise in a calm, professional manner
Assist guests with services and requests, and be always visible to our guests and staff.
Education and Experience
HND or B.Sc in Hospitality Management or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years experience.
Prior work as a manager or supervisor
Success with customer service
Enthusiastic, quick-thinking, and welcoming personality
Ability to react to guest requests efficiently and to ensure details are communicated and followed through on in all departments
Outstanding personal presentation and grooming
Strong written and oral communication skills
PC literate with an understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
Experience in a similar role within a high-level hotel or fine dining restaurant will be an added advantage.
